| - I was recently deducted from my account and was 50 cents under.
I noticed this on easy web but ignored it, thinking it was only 50 cents under, I could have easily gone to the bank to deposit 50 cents, or even more, because I had cash in my wallet.
However, the computer system reverted the transaction and heavily charged me 42 dollars!
My sister worked at another TD branch and was quite sure I could get a refund considering how understandable my situation is. Being charged 42 dollars for being short of 50 cents is quite ridiculous.
However the manager Adriane Yee, refused to allow me to get a refund. She was very strict on the rules and did not consider my point of view of how absurd it is, nor did she consider my feelings of frustration. She could have easily understood my situation and give me the refund, she had the power to, but she refused.
Thanks, for ruining my reputation of the branch, I am 25 years old and consider myself a radical entrepreneur, I have money to save, house to buy, investments to make and that 42 dollars in the short run will cost you much more in the long run.
I was unlucky enough to have my account with this branch rather than my sister's.
To take out my anger, I switched accounts to my sister's branch, (Hilcrest Mall) and they quickly gave me the refund, they made me feel very happy, and was very considerate about my feelings. However, it rendered my plentiful cheques useless :(
I don't like managers who don't have a sense of empathy. (especially considering that TD has a reputation for excellent customer service.)
(I can only speak from my perspective.)
There is one other negative experience I'd like to mention, when they ask for you to review the branch and give them feed back, they have a forceful attitude, while staring at you as you are writing the review. They comment on how important it is to give them perfect. Many of my friends with the same branch also had that same experience and we've joked about it.
