| - To be fair to this place, I don't normally stay here when I'm in the area. I usually select the Holiday Inn down the road. But at the last minute I had to take my little pup a long and they thankfully take pets.
I reserved my room online. When I checked in the reservation wasn't for a pet friendly room and had a moment of panic.. b/c I definitely chose that online. I even checked my confirmation later to make sure it's what I selected. but the gentleman helping me was able to change it without any issues.
The entire hotel is ok. The room is ok. Totally serviceable. If you want a bed to sleep in and need to travel with your pet, the hotel is totally fine. I'm sure the pet-friendly rooms aren't the nicest they offer. They're pretty dated, but it works.
The room was near the pool which made it smell like chlorine. and of course there was noise from little kids running around enjoying themselves. I was offered a pet friendly room away from the pool upon checking in though, but it only had 1 bed and we needed 2. So, not really a complaint as it was our choice. Just for those who travel there with pets - there are 2 options.
My main disappointment was the customer service. When I first entered the hotel there was someone on the phone (a legit business call) and another person looking at paperwork. The person standing in front of me looked at me, and went back to reading his paper, looked at me, went back to his paper. It was really awkward. Not a hello, hi, how are you doing, so and so will be with you in a minute. When it got even more awkward, because by now I'd been standing there for a few minutes, he looked at me again and walked away.
The person on the phone, Eddy I believe was his name, was great though. As soon as he saw that guy do that he put the call on hold, checked me in and was pleasant every other time I saw him.
I can't say that for anyone else. I was was in and out of the hotel, taking my dog for a walk, unloading the car etc. and other people I encountered multiple times (I had to walk past them to go in/out the front door) didn't even look at me (even after I said hello, good evening, good morning etc). I've worked in the service industry a lot and just for life in general, I believe it doesn't take much effort to be pleasant or polite.
I'm thankful for having a pet friendly hotel in the area, but other than that and Eddy's customer service, it was just ok. If you need a place to crash with your pet this is fine but don't expect much else.
