First off I want to say that my experience here was at really odd hours 5am departure and a 1am arrival, so I could be way off on this in terms of regular daytime hours. But honestly if they have flight arriving or departing at weird hours, they should have weird hours for their shops/restaurants/bars.
Anyway, this airport is not super modern. It kinda needs a face-lift. I does not have any specialty shops other than newsstands and random electronic stores where you can buy the headphones you left at home for twice the price (which is expected in any airport). Their eateries were fairly scant and there was no sign of any sort of healthy meal option unless it was prepackaged. There not that many outlets for you to charge your phone, so that kinda sucks
Oh the upside, their bathrooms were fairly clean, TSA lines were a breeze, and and the airport itself was really easy to navigate.
If for whatever reason my flight from Pitt gets canceled again and I have to take an alternate flight, I would definitely consider flying out of this airport. It was a quick in and out for me (not to mention a 2 hour drive from Pitt to Clev with a really heavy foot).
