| - If you enjoy polite, friendly vendors and an assortment of goodies for you eyes and tummy shop Symon's Valley Ranch!
This rustic farmer's market is the setting for the perfect weekend outing. Open from 9-5 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, there are so many things to do as a family, a couple, or solo.
When I first walked in, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful white peacocks located in a cage near the main entrance. I think the peacocks along with some geese (the mother goose kind not the Canadian ones) are the Farmer's Market unofficial mascots. They are simple stunning and the kids really enjoyed looking at them too.
The market has a good mixture of fresh fruits and vegetables, and the prices are very comparable to big-box store organic items. For example, grapes were about $5 and I saw the same sized package at Superstore for $4.98.
There is more one vendor selling particular items as well-- on site I saw two bakeries, three or four different fruit and veggies vendors, three places selling home made soup... etc. I like that so much. I feel with groceries stores, you are subjected to only one or two brands.
There are two places you must to check out when you're here! The Symon's Valley Ranch House located downstairs. They have an amazing patio and delicious, delicious, deeeeellliciiioouusss food. Everything is locally produced and cooked with thought. For example, the chicken wings are farmed locally, spiced and baked to perfection! Even the ranch dip, was customized to compliment the wings. A very well thought out item!
The second place to check out is Wildgoose Artwork. An open space where artists can be artists. The space is really cool. On one side, you can see the artist's studio and on the other side, a very large collection of artwork. They have original paintings starting from $40! C'mon it doesn't get better than that.
