Decided to try this place out as a back up to another doggie day care and plus I work odd hours so the open 24/7 was a great draw. There was a distinct smell when you walk in and I get there is a bunch of dogs but our other doggie day care never had this kind of smell. it just gave me an overall sense of being dirty. That was the first thing that made me a little concerned. Though in my head I knew I would not ever utilize the grooming there. When I picked her up from the interview, I saw she was with the large breed dogs (great danes, german shepherds, labs, etc) and she's still growing but she's a mini aussie and won't be more than 30 lbs...but she can be rowdy at home with my other mini aussie so I didn't say anything...that should have been concerning point number 2. Also, her paws were like black when I picked her up after four hours which again made me wonder about the cleanliness of the place...on top of the smell when you walk in. Still though...willing to give it a try. Today was her first full day of care. I picked her up and she reeked of urine and her paws were SOOO disgusting! Her whole hind end was like dried and stiff from a mix of urine and maybe something else. It looked like there was mud on her feet but then...it's all indoors so one can only wonder what it was. She also didn't come out to me all peppy like she normally does and had her ears completely back. She looked terrified. I took her straight home and into the bath. I should have taken pics but I was so concentrated on getting her clean. Though she doesn't care for baths, her whole demeanor changed after she was squeaky clean and she was back to her usual peppy self! Needless to say, we won't be back. On the positive side, all the staff I encountered were very nice and pleasant.
