  • The worst experience ever, not just renting car, but buying anything. I decided to use Enterprise only because I'm from STL and I thought I should support the local company - in fact, I have friends who work there and their president did come to our university to give a talk too. The price was reasonable, and the agent initially greeted us with a great smile. So far so good. Then she mentioned something about not worrying about refilling the gas tank. She said it's a great deal and I should just initial here. I didn't get it, so I asked her what did she mean. She said "oh, it's just means you don't have to refill any fuel and it's much cheaper." I thought OK, sure. Then, when the bill came up, it was charging me additional $100 for $80 reservation for 2 days. I told her, "wait a second, what is this?" Soon, I found out that that was the prepaid fuel, stupid of me. I asked her to just cancel that since I'm not going to use $50 worth of gas. I wasn't planning on driving much. But then, to my sheer surprise, the woman literally turned into a monster, her expression angry and essentially yelling at me, "you will need $50 gas just getting to Pittsburgh!" It was only my second visit, but I could not imagine Nissan Altima using that much gas. She refused to take it off the bill. She finally said it still shows up on the bill, but I won't be charged - what kind of explanation is that! BTW, she also tried to sell me insurance, and when I flatly refused, she condescendingly said "well, I hope you know that out of state insurance cannot be used in PA" or something of that sort. Anyways, at the window where you actually pick up your car, I asked the young man if I'm still being charged for the prepaid fuel, and he said yes. He quickly took it off, with an expression that seemed to say, "it happens all the time." I understand that it was my fault I didn't firmly refuse the prepaid fuel, but I was just shocked how a person can change from showing a big smile to almost a devil like face, simply because a customer didn't want the prepaid fuel. I don't know what kind of training Enterprise do, but I've never seen anything like that in my life. There was not even a line, so it was not like I was holding up. Needless to say, this was my last Enterprise experience ever, and I cannot wait until I talk to my friends in STL.
