While visiting my middle son and his GF in Gilbert, we were looking for something unusual to do. My youngest thought of an "escape room". Since this one was somewhat near us, and accepting last minute reservations - we thought we would give it a try! They had many rooms to choose from - but since there were 4 of us (on a Tuesday) we thought we would start with a 'starter' room. We did the Captain's Quarters. (definitely can't imagine 6 people in here - it was small) We had a hard time starting as the initiation was not immediately obvious. We received a helpful (no charge) hint and we were off and running! We did use our 3 free hints, but still finished with 10 minutes to spare! It was great fun. Yes they do rely on "locks" of all kinds. What threw us a bit was they stated it was "linear" and once we finished with one clue we were done with it. While that is true... some items had multiple locks and you may open one of the two locks but not both with the clue so it was a bit difficult to keep the flow going. Our "host" was super nice and helpful. Overall - good times!
