| - **~THE GOOD~**
I'm a sucker for anything cute so when I saw Dessert Kitchen's Kitty Coffee, I knew I had to try it.
The store is still on its soft opening, so when I went around 6 pm on a weekday the place was half empty. Upon entering the store, you will see the open kitchen concept. I got seated close to the kitchen so I get to watched how the food were prepared. The store is small but cosy, with a mixture of low and high-top tables.
Perusing the menu you will find an array of desserts to choose - from Taiwan style shaved ice, parfaits, sundaes, waffles, boba teas, coffee, milk tea and more. You will be overwhelmed and want to order everything because it looks so good.
Of course I came here for the adorable Kitty coffee (instead of coffee you can also order a Kitty milk tea) and that's the first thing I ordered. The coffee comes with a cute marshmallow kitty, milk in a little white container, and 3 mini sugar cubes. Putting the marshmallow kitty on your hot drink with its head poking gives you the effect of 3D coffee art. Be warned - it melts quickly so if you're planning to take photos do it fast. I also didn't bother to put the sugar cubes in my coffee as it's already sweet with the addition of the marshmallow. And without the adorable marshmallow kitty, this is just an ordinary coffee.
**~THE BAD~**
I really wanted to like this place - the cuteness factor is there but quality is lacking for sure! And whatever they lack in quality they make it up in the presentation just like their parfaits.
I tried the Black Temptation Parfait which is soft serve vanilla ice cream with Cocoa crisps, Oreos and Chocolate pearls served in a tall glass. They packed it up with so much ice cream that you can't even mix the other ingredients without spilling them. The soft serve ice cream also tasted blah, Chapman tasted better. The server who recommended this parfait said if you love chocolate then you will enjoy Black Temptation. Honestly, I didn't enjoy this dessert one bit - the flavours didn't really blend well and your chocolate cravings will not be surely satisfied!
I also find their prices steep. Even with the 20% off (you get this discount by following them in IG) I still managed to pay $17 bucks for the coffee and parfait considering I really didn't enjoy the food.
They're also giving discount coupons so you can come back for their regular opening. Thanks but no thanks as I sure will not come here for a return visit!
