  • While we love Great Clips for my husband since he can just walk in, our experience today was terrible. It's our anniversary so I wanted my hair straightened and lightly trimmed for our evening out. I used to do this at a different salon for $25-30. They told me that not only would they have to charge 'formal' for a straightening instead of just a 'style', which costs $55, if I just wanted them to blow it out it was $30 because my hair is considered long. It barely goes past my shoulder and is layered so only half of it is even long enough for a ponytail. So if I wanted straight hair, which requires no formal styling, and a light trim it would come to $70. I would have considered $30 for straightening and said forget the trim, but even after I told her to forget it and we'd go somewhere else she did not offer that. That is ridiculous and a scam. I'll spend the 30 minutes doing it myself instead. $70 is what my professional quality straightener cost, just to give a comparison. Never going back and my husband will go somewhere else as well
