| - I read the reviews here and always take into consideration the negative reviews as well as the positive when I try to decide whether to use a particular business. The positive outweighed the negatives, so I began online communication with the internet sales manager for a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. After several emails between us, she sent me an attractive offer to purchase the car at a competitive out the door price. I did not respond right away, but about 2 weeks later, I contacted her and said I was ready, willing and able to come in and purchase the car today and made a counter offer. She wrote back, "the car you were looking at has already sold, but we have another car, the same model and options and you can come in and I will present your counter to the sales manager." She told me to ask for the salesman who portrays Buck Henderson in the ads and that she had given him all my information and he had my file. When I got to the dealership. I asked for him by name and he had no idea who I was. He made several calls and finally found my file while I was kept waiting. He then showed me the car which turned out to be the exact same car I was interested in earlier as the vin number matched, so the car had not been sold as I was told. I test drove it, liked it and the salesman told me to sit down and he was going to get the manager. The manager showed me the usual number, mumbo, jumbo crap and told me I should pay dealer cost! I don't know about you, but no one tells me what I should pay for something. Finally, he did the typical used car shady salesman crap and showed me a circled price which was $600 more than the original offer I received over the internet. Needless to say, I was done. I stood up, told him this was a classic case of bait and switch, that I had no intention of paying more than the original offer for the same car and informed him I planned to use social media to let his customers know the kind of sales practices they use to get someone into the dealership. I got up and walked out. I then texted the internet sales manager and told her what had just happened and she texted back, "the car I quoted you sold, I told you I had another one that we could see once you came in." I texted her back that this was indeed the same car with the same vin and she replied, "I'll talk to the manager, it's not like I intentionally brought you in for this to happen. I apologize." There has been no further texts or communication between the dealership or myself. I don't believe in using social media to unfairly trash a business, but in this case, my review is merited by the fact that a previous review also claimed bait and switch. They may claim to be the top Hyundai dealership that earns the customer's business, but they did not earn mine and I hope anyone considering buying a car from them reads my review before doing so. I will end with this. I contacted the internet sales manager at Honda West, made an offer, received a very reasonable counter, drove to the dealership and two hours later was out the door with a no hassle 2014 Honda Civic. They earned my repeat business.
