| - The hotel had a much "hipper" vibe to it than what I expected from the sense I got of it on their website.
We arrived in the evening and music played in the lobby where they served yummy hot chocolate. The bar/restaurant attached was packed with good looking people and had a fun vibe to it. It was however, pretty pricey.
The continental breakfast was $20 and really didn't contain much. We also ate there for a late night snack after discovering the room service menu didn't really have anything we were interested in (unfortunately the restaurant menu is the same as the room service one). We decided on the fish sticks, which were not fish sticks, but one huge piece of fried fish. As odd as it looked, it tasted delicious. Random peas next to fries was a bit odd, but we were in Montreal so we went with it and we were again surprised at how yummy they were.
We had reserved a junior suite. I had no idea that it was a two story room. How cool. You walk into the bedroom area and upstairs is a loft with it's own 1/2 bath (no shower), couch and sitting area with desk. I thought the bed should be upstairs, but it really didn't matter.
The bedroom had a large bed which was SUPER comfy, a beautiful brick wall, tv/minibar area and a great bathroom with large jacuzzi tub/shower. We loved the hotel bath products which they were very generous with. We had a great view of the square and Notre Dame.
The maid service was late everyday (I read another review that mentioned it and thought I would too), but it didn't really affect my rating. The internet service was free which was a great bonus, but it kept signing us off and that was a bit of a hassle.
The hotel gym was a tad limited and rather dark, but we didn't expect much in the way of a gym at this hotel anyway.
Overall, the experience was wonderful.
