| - Nice location but that's where it ends. The street sign on Lincoln Dr. would lead you to keep on driving as it looks like a trailer park sign. My Wife and I both said out loud "This can't be it" Much of the parking lot was dirt which struck me as somewhat odd for a would be "High End" restaurant. I made our reservation 16 days in advance for Valentines day at 6:30 pm. I requested patio seating for our occasion. We were seated right in front of the entrance to the rear indoor dining area and adjacent to the wait station so it was fairly hectic, (strike one).
For the event it was a restricted menu of selections. Sticky buns were on the table before we ordered which struck me a little odd but after reading reviews I guess it's "Their" thing. Dessert before dinner. Can't imagine filling up on those when a steak costs a small fortune, but hey. I ordered the Tenderloin cooked medium well and my wife had the Chicken. Sides offered were both of the Seafood nature, Lobster Bisque and Crab Salad, (strike two) We passed on both. My Tenderloin came out cold and way undercooked (strike three.) I didn't want to ruin the Evening by saying anything so I powered through. It was tiny anyhow so it didn't take a lot of effort. My Wife said her Chicken was delicious. Fast forward to the next morning. We talked about Dinner over coffee and I said be honest, how did you really like the experience? She too said she didn't want to ruin the evening and that's why she said her Chicken was delicious. She stated her Chicken was bland and that she's had better at Carabbas. I told her my Steak was cold. We both commented on the less than stellar table location even with making reservations more than two weeks in advance. Our less than average dinner was right at $200, with nearly a 70 minute drive one way. So a two hour plus round trip disappointment.
Also keep in mind this restaurant is immense, my guess is it seats between 400-450 people as I overheard the wait staff say someone at table 89 (on the patio) needed something. 4 persons at each table, that's 356 people on the patio alone, not including the immense indoor seating as well, so if you were hoping for any special attention or treatment, stay home.
I would also like to comment on one completely tacky maneuver orchestrated by the Valet service. I previously mentioned much of the parking lot is dirt, I had just washed my car and decided to use the Valet Service for $6 as I figured my car would be parked in the paved Valet lot. I was right, they parked it right up front. When we returned my car was no longer in the front. They had moved it to the back to make room for the very expensive/impressive cars like Mercedes, Porsche's, Teslas' I know this because the Valet told me. Designed to impress the guests while they wait for their cars to be pulled up. My nice shiny car showed up with a layer of dust from being parked in their dirt lot. What really disappoints me is that I put up with that crap AND I gave the guy a $4 tip for bringing me a dirty car! The more I thought about it the madder it made me!!
I almost always read Yelp reviews before I take the leap, but in this case I didn't. Their 3.5 stars and $200 for a dinner for two should have clued me in on the experience but I think I, as well as most others, are captured by the scenery and it's Paradise Valley location, and by default rate the meal higher than it should be.
THOROUGHLY UNDERWHELMING
