| - Don't let the beautiful trees and large grass areas fool you. This is not somewhere you want to live.
Upon viewing my initial apartment and the ground around the complex I was excited to move in Royal Palms with my husband. The inside of the apartments are nice, clean at first glance, they come with stainless steel appliances, some are included with fireplaces, and the patios are a great addition.
However, after living at this complex for about 8 months you began to really see what goes on. My first bad experience was I noticed that one of the maintenance workers that lives in the complex has a dog who he lets poop all over and he rarely cleans up after him. Yet he works for the complex and delivers notices/fines to residents who don't pick up after their own pets. Comical, right? I had to call the office twice to make a complaint on him.
Originally when we moved in it was Gina and Melinda working the front office. Melinda was as rude as they came. I'm not even sure how she kept her job. Upon a week of being there Gina was swearing and flipping off residents in front of us. It was completely unprofessional.
We were excited to have the sauna and steam room but they have been closed now for over 7 months so I'm not sure how this complex can trick tennants into thinking they will be allowed to use these amenities. The pool and hot tub are disgusting!!!!! Do not even get in it. We use to always use the jets so we never noticed but we were sitting in the hot tub one day with them off and oh my, the water is full of skin cells, oils, hair, all kinds of nasty things. There was a bottle cap left at the bottom of it for weeks! I checked every day to see if someone cleaned it but nope. These employees do not do their jobs and they are extremely rude and unprofessional towards the residents. I witnessed Gina, the leasing manager, scream and laugh at a tenants door because they were getting evicted. What kind of human being does that? She couldn't leave the notice and walk away? I am saddened to see how horrible people treat others specially when their job is directly related to the consumers. Gina talks about tenants to other tenants constantly and I have witnessed that first hands.
We were also extremely embarrassed of the fact that Gina and the red headed maintenance worker smoke right outside the leasing office door. They aren't even standing outside half of the time but simply blowing their smoke out. My husband has lupus and would have severe flare ups every time we walked into the office. It stinks like cigarette smoke so bad near the office.
Gina also waived my pet deposit when we moved in and said she had to "fudge" numbers to get us into our apartment because my income wasn't enough. I should have known any manager that would lie like that on an application probably didn't run her complex very professionally or safely either.
I'm overly disappointed with the way this complex is ran and the way we were treated during our time living here.
Oh and not to mention, the insides of the walls have mold in them. I saw it upon moving out and have photos for proof. Which I will post later.
