The ambiance deserves 5 stars. This restaurant fell short with respect to the service and the main courses.
My appetizer was fantastic, I had a pork belly dish which was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. My wife had french onion soup which was good, but nothing special or worth 12 dollars. The steak was adequate... for a JG restaurant I expected more than adequate... Perhaps my expectations were based on Jean Georges in NYC but for the price, it was no better than any other steakhouse that I've been to. The mashed potatoes were more butter than they were potato and tasted as such.
Disappointing was the desert, we had the chocolate cake with caramel ice cream. The ice cream did not taste like caramel and was a small portion. where as the cake was too strong of a chocolate flavor, it was overbearing and just too rich. Again, the food just fell short in comparison to the NYC restaurant.
Service was slow, but not terrible. Would expect more for the price.
