I'd give Green Street Realty negative 1000 stars if I could.
I lived in a GSR apartment for two years, because I was young and dumb, and didn't realize that literally every apartment building on campus is better than a GSR apartment.
I had mold, DIRTY carpet that I know for a fact hadn't been changed in over 10 years because the several previous tenants were friends, cockroaches, and a furnace that STARTED ON FIRE because it was so filthy.
I'm not kidding. I was home alone and noticed a black smoky haze near the ceiling. Realized that it was coming from the furnace. RAN out of my apartment and called 911. Turned out that the furnace was just so clogged with filth and dust that it couldn't take it any longer.
When I finally was able to move out (and move into my next apartment early) Jason Reda the manager sent me a $1000 security deposit return. Knowing that he owed us at least $1500 more than that from all of the previous tenants that had lived there with us and moved out, and the fact that we returned the apartment in a better condition than it was given to us, I went to the office and it took me 3 hours to get all of our money we were owed. Eventually left with $2500 because it was obviously owed to us.
End of rant is coming soon - We painted every wall in the apartment because it was disgusting. Had the carpet profesionally cleaned several times when we lived there because it was so nasty. There were at least 3 times that we woke up in the morning and had vomit all over right outside of our door. Took GSR several days to come clean it up. Nasty washers and dryers that were unusable (most were broken).
I could continue all day but I'll stop. I should've reported this company to the tenant union. Maybe I still will.
