  • Scratch Gallery. No, scratch that. Scratch CAFE! Not necessarily a misnomer, but Scratch Gallery is more like a really comfortable cafe space that also has crafty stuffs too. Hmm.. maybe that's the espresso fan in me speaking. Blinders focused my vision and I made a beeline straight to the beans: Intelligentsia beans in Midtown! My americano had two perfectly, strongly pulled shots. When this happens, I'm happy and don't need any sugar or milk. So delish! Not so delicious, however, was the "industrial muffin". I mean, it sure is INDUSTRIAL in size, weight, and i think the fiber in it might be industrial in strength, but it just didn't do it for me. After I'd had my caffeine fix on the ultra cushy couch along the back wall, I took a look around and the crafty stuff is great. They have handmade knitted mittens, screen-printed tees, and oh! I don't know if it was meant to be sold, but a cute Obama hood-ornament thingy. And oh, the staff/owner dude is really friendly (and tech-friendly). Though I didn't use my laptop there, I'm 99.9% sure Scratch offers free wifi in-house, as per a conversation about other *free* wifi in the area.
