Had a couple of weddings to attend in the neighbourhood in an evening, and needed a place to crash. Seemed like a good choice given the historic building and the pricing options.
Check-in was easy. The room and the stairwell smelt more of cleaning fluids than wood and history.
Room was clean, had a small flat screen TV, free Wi Fi, small washroom with a decent shower cube.
I had booked a room with a King-size Bed. The bed while being wide enough, seemed a foot o two too short. Now that's possibly customized to fit the room. But that's just my guess.
There wasn't anyone at the desk during checkout, which seemed odd. So I called the 416 number on the desk and the lady advised me to drop off the keys in the hole/slot under the desk. Now it would have been nice if she had explained it when I checked in or just have someone at the desk. It seemed very odd that the desk is only open between 11:00 and 18:00. I mean what if someone doesn't have a phone, or is on roaming and thus unable to use the phone.
Also the set of number-keypad followed by the key and another set of keys for the room is a tad too much when folks just want to be able to get in and out of the place with ease.
Decent stay overall though.
