So I took my laptop to the Geek Squad here for repairs. They sent it off and said they would call within a couple of days with an estimate. It took a week for them to call. When they did, they told me what parts they were replacing and how much it would cost. I asked, "How much does EACH part cost?" "What exactly is the problem?" "Which part of the motherboard is malfunctioning?" "Why do you need to replace two parts when I only have one problem?"
They could not give me answers to any of these questions. I spoke with four different people. Even Geek Squad employees have no way to contact the actual person at the service center who physically looked at my computer and knows what specifically is wrong with it.
I am just in shock that there is literally no way for them to answer these very basic questions. Are there really enough customers who just bend over, no questions asked, for them to stay in business this way? Needless to say, we declined the repair and will never use them again. Lesson learned.
