| - Imagine World Market..now picture a store ten times that size with a vast selection of produce and international food. The Super G Mart is my favorite grocery store to visit when I am in need of international ingredients.
They have a large selection of produce. A lot that I am familiar with, but far more that I didn't know existed. Most of it looked fresh and I was impressed with the prices as well. I noticed that the store wasn't the cleanest. I have seen worse though, and for the money you save I felt like it didn't matter. I bought a pomegranate for just $2.25! that is unheard of at Harris Teeter, where they can be upwards of $6.00 per fruit.
Towards the back is the meat/seafood department. The meat looked very fresh and included a wide selection. Here is where I found some interesting meat that I have never seen before (chicken feet, cow tongue, pig heart). The seafood looked fresh as well, but could be smelled throughout the whole store. Yuck!
The grocery aisles were very organized based on nationalities. If you can think of it, they probably have it! My favorite sections to browse is the tea and the snack/candy aisles. The only downfall is that I found a handful of items that were expired. This caused me to become paranoid every time I picked up something that I wanted to purchase. However, I assumed this could happen anywhere.
Believe it or not, this mart even has a restaurant in it! There is a Korean place and a Chinese Bun place. For me, I liked the buns the best because I don't know how to use chop sticks very well lol. Although, I would recommend trying some authentic food from either source.
I find myself browsing this mart for hours every time I go. I seem to always find something I have never tried before, which was a dragon fruit during my most recent visit..Yum!
