I hated it. For a restaurant that gets as much hype as it does, I would expect better. I grew up in a southern household, and my grandmother can cook this better. The red beans and rice had no flavor, the meatloaf was dry even though it was drenched in gravy and the fried okra was over cooked and clump together. I had the catfish that was undercooked, the greens were OK, and my grandmother can make better mac and cheese. For dessert we decided to take the sweet potato pie and the banana pudding to go. I took a bite of each later in the evening, and gave them to my kids. Both of my kids said that it was OK, and that I can make both the sweet potato pie and banana pudding 10x better. The only thing that was good, was the red kool aid, and the sweet tea. Even the service was bad. I will not go back. if I want soul food, I will make it myself..and I'm white.
