| - I would echo most of the reviews that the Phoenician is really a class act.
When we arrived, my initial reaction was that it felt a bit old/dated. But in fact, the resort has been totally updated and they have thought of everything -- while retaining the class.
The resort is exceptionally well designed/laid out with great views of Camelback mountain and sunsets, ease of access to pools, spa, golf, and ever-present bars/restaurants.
We stayed in a casita which was wonderful and well situated. Normally you have to travel a bit to pro shops, even spas, but it was all right there.
Service is top-notch... close to Four Seasons levels of service.
I highly recommend renting a cabana at the lower pool -- great experience and hard to go back to regular pool lounging after that.
Spa treatments are pricey but excellent. It's not really a destination spa like Enchantment or Canyon Ranch, but still a solid experience.
The golf course is in great shape and summer rates are amazing.
I didn't bring the kids this time but would definitely come back as they have ample kids' activities, a splash pad, and even a "dive-in" movie night with an inflatable screen in the pool!
Food in general is solid even at the pool, though there are better restaurants to be found in nearby Scottsdale (less than 10 minutes drive).
Overall, a true class act and I would return again for sure next time in town.
