| - I really love coming to hang out here on the weekend, mid-day just to chill. During my first visit, my fiance and I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders while sipping on a beer or two. They have about 24 taps of NC beers as well as some fridges and shelves with cans and bottles for taking home with you. The have a wide selection of taps including some of the fan favs, everything from pales to porters, as well as some ciders, sours, and kombucha.
Despite the dog in the logo, due to new NC laws, dogs can't really hang out inside. If you are just ordering, they let them walk in with you, but then you need to go out on the patio to enjoy your beverage. The patio is a decent size and has shade, so if it's not too hot, that's a great option. They also have a basket of dog toys just inside the door if your furry friend gets bored.
Inside, they also have a nice seating area with couches, chairs, and hightops. There are a good number of outlets around too, which is why my second visit was with the intention of getting some work done on my laptop. Pop the Top has the vibe of a coffee shop, but with beer instead.
Both times I've been, I've had the chance to chat with Ketan, one of the owners. The first visit, he let us sample a new product and solicited our feedback if it would be something we as his customers would like to see served. He's super nice, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and happy to let you try anything you're curious about.
The only thing this place doesn't really have is food (there's a small cooler with some ice pops and pimento cheese), but luckily Blaze pizza is right down the way.
