A fairly organized run for a race of this size. It was no easy task to accommodate over 30k runners on the famous Las Vegas strip.
I was a bit worried before the race but thankfully did not encounter any major issues. Race packet pickup was a bliss. The expo was quite big with lots of interesting vendors. The 'goodie' bag was disappointing. It has nothing but a bunch of marketing junk and not even that many useful coupons. I really think they could do better than this.
The half marathon course was iconic. We started at the beginning of the strip near Mandalay Bay and ran all the way to Las Vegas downtown and finish at the heart of the strip near Venetian/Bellagio. We had to ran past some dimmer residential area but most of the course was really gorgeous at night and the bands playing on the side were awesome.
30k runners on the strip. You could probably imagine how crowded it was. I started at corral 10. While it wasn't super packed, I was still rubbing elbows with other runners. Friends who started at later corral said they were slowed to a crawl at start.
Would I do this race again? you bet!
