  • Let me start off by saying I love Joe's BBQ, so I thought this would be a no-brainer awesome choice. My boyfriend had a rough day so I wanted to treat him to something I had faith would be good, and with all the good reviews I thought we couldn't go wrong. The line was only partially out the door, so we thought it wouldn't be that bad. 50 minutes later we finally were able to place our order. That was rough. I had the tuna sandwhich and my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken sandwhich. It took about 10 minutes more to get the food. I'm not sure why people repeatedly wait 45 minutes plus for their food - it's just okay. I know places that I can get an Ahi tuna sandwhich for that are cheaper and much better quality, like LGO. There really is nothing remarkable about any of it. Then when my boyfriend got home he started feeling sick and proceeded to have the worst bout of food poisoning I've seen. Undercooked or mishandled chicken is one of the worst types of food poisoning you can get - it took him a full 36 hours to recover. He never gets sick, and this was the only thing he ate all day, so I'm pretty confident that was the issue. Plus, there was a sauce on the chicken so it would've been hard to detect if it was slightly undercooked. I called the manager and he said they haven't had any reports of this in the past, and sounded skeptical that it even happened. At a place where so many kids eat I'd expect this to be taken more seriously. Overall, I'm very disappointed in this. I could've saved time, money and a whole weekend of taking care of my boyfriend simply by going somewhere else. I do not plan on going back.
