About a week ago I purchased an Xbox one for my 9 year old daughter. It remained unopened until Christmas morning. We spent 2 full days trying to set the thing up to no avail. For starters, the controller did not even work. After learning that the Xbox one was for online use only, and failed attempts to install any games, my husband and I became extremely frustrated. Yes, i misplaced the receipt and I understand that that is my fault, however their refund policy is absurd. They offered me a trade credit of 50%. I then decided to take it to zia records and they offered me 45$ more in trade credit than game stop did.
Basically, it's very disheartening that gamestop does not have the abilities to pull up a recipet from 8 days earlier. I am a single mom who spent her last dollars on a system for her child and they wanted to steal me out of half of the cost I had paid. From this day forward I will continue to steer people away from your company and push them towards alternative places that take customer service more seriously. If I could pick zero stars I would.
