I took my cat in, who is quite old, for some breathing issues she was having. During the X-rays I could hear my cat screaming from the back. It lasted minutes. She also went through a thoracocentisis procedure. When I brought her home same day, she was so traumatized. Her breathing was better but now she wouldn't eat, could barley walk/stumbling around, and didn't even sleep. It was so sad. She lasted like this for 2 days. I called them multiple times wondering if it had been from the kitty Xanax they had given her (after the X-ray) and they had said no the meds wear off in four hours. That she is probably traumatized from having a rough day. Well two days had passed and she hadn't eaten anything so I went to feed her with a syringe and grabbed at her scruff...I had never heard her yell louder then she did! She wanted nothing to do with her scruff being touched. They had grabbed her so hard by the neck she was so sore! That's also why she wouldn't sleep. She couldn't lay her head down. Then on the fourth day after the visit I noticed swelling in her hind legs. They had grabbed by baby's neck and legs so hard and really did some muscle damage. I mean I know cats can be a pain, but not knowing how hard they are handling a geriatric cat is seriously disturbing. When I called and told them what I thought happened the doctor told me "no that's no possible."
My cat had none of these problems when I brought her in. She slowly has gotten better and her only symptom now is swollen hind paws, but rough handling is the only explanation.
I'm sorry but when I take my cat to the groomer they even tell me she will be sore for a few days. How is that not possible that you maybe handled her too roughly? Totally disgusted with their care.
