| - Everyone should experience a meal like this at least once in their lifetime. I went with a group of 5 for dinner and ordered 9 food dishes, 2 kinds of beer, and a delightful bottle of sake. If you're doing family style I would recommend splitting dishes between 2-4 people. Most things came out as 6 or 8 small pieces so it would be nice to have a few bites from each plate. My 2 absolute favorites are the Grapefruit & Hamachi dish, and the Shiromi Carpaccio (that comes with house-made focaccia). If I had to choose a meal to eat for the rest of my life, it would be one of those 2. Absolutely divine (I never use that word...but it's certainly fitting in this case). My next 2 favorites were the Oyster with uni, tomato water, and wasabi oil, and the Today's vegetable option (I have no idea what plant it was, but there was a particularly delicious crunchy leaf that we all fought over). The tuna tataki, clam & mushroom, and soft shell crab salad were all fantastic and savory as well. The Saikyo Yaki was a bit unremarkable, but maybe it was just hard to split 2 orders of it between 5 people - I only had a small bite. And finally, the dessert! A sweet pureed concoction in a mason jar with the consistency of baby food was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Yes, it's a pricey experience but it is worth it for a memorable date or celebratory meal. Our total came out to $80 a person and we all walked out with a smile, discussing all our favorite tastes. Thanks to our personable server who was patient, attentive, and lively! I would love to return for the omakase or tasting menu (call 2 weeks ahead for omakase and 24 hours ahead for the tasting menu!). This is definitely the type of place you want to call beforehand and make a reservation (shout-out to the patient person who answered the phone and dealt with my indecisiveness). The location is picturesque and the house is charming. In regards to parking, look for the Cultural Center Parking Garage and your server will validate your parking pass. Thanks for the lovely evening!
