Man what a cool little theater. I love that there are still kitschy spots like this around, though it's truly the last of its kind in Charlotte. That said, I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon. They even have mayoral awards from the council of arts (or something like that) hanging on the wall here.
It's only a two-screen theater with a moderately sloping arrangement of seating rather than tiered or terraced like modern theaters. This means that you can easily be obstructed by the head of the person in front of you. Nonetheless, the small size makes for a truly unique experience when coming to watch here. It being a Regal branded theater you can get whatever you have come to expect from other mega-sized Regal theaters. Popcorn, giant sodas and big bags of Twizzlers or Sour Patch, to name the best few. Getting from the lobby to your theater is a piece of cake. If you get lost, that's on you. Most importantly, this is the spot to see those limited release artsy fartsy films you can't see anywhere else in town.
All of this is centered right in the middle of a wonderfully walkable area. When you're done watching, you can head to dinner, grab a few beers or do some light shopping. Seriously my favorite theater in Charlotte.
