I've been to Lot 17 a few times usually to meet up for drinks with friends and usually in a large group of folks. Last night I met a friend for a late dinner. He ordered the calamari and a burger and had a couple of beers and he really enjoyed it; I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken and we shared some sweet potato fries. I had a glass of red wine but it wasn't very good, but they don't really cater to wine drinkers, so I didn't have high expectations. This place is ok on occasion and great for casual drinks and bar food with friends especially if you are under 40, but now that I've crept past 40 it just really isn't my scene. The food is tasty but nothing to write home about - I mean it kind of reminds me of TGI Friday's or Chili's along that line except in a less commercial environment. The prices are great and there is nothing bad about it; it's just nothing that knocked my socks off and makes me want to go back again, especially when there are so many other options in Pittsburgh with good wines lists and better food.
