My vehicle had its transmission go out at 9pm one night. Being new to the area and not knowing any good shops I resorted to the internet to find a close shop to where my truck broke down. I found a decent repair shop in the same parking lot of Husker's. Not knowing the shop had closed down a month prior I had my vehicle towed there. The tow truck driver advised me the shop was out of business once he towed my vehicle there but told me about Husker's being in the same lot, so I left my truck there to avoid another tow bill
The Next day the owner called me and I told him exactly what was wrong with my truck and I was looking for an estimate for repair, as I know transmission work can be expensive. In the mean time, I called a couple other places to get a few quotes to change the transmission out to make sure i wasn't getting ripped off... The owner called me back and told me in fact it was the transmission and gave me his price to fix it. His price was over 1500 more than several other shops in the area!! When I told him about this, he started yelling and cussing me out over the phone. I asked him several times to calm down and not to speak to me like that but he continued to do so. I ended up hanging up on him as I was not going to take that. He ended up calling me back and stated that I owed him $200.00 dollars for his time to give me an estimate. After another brief argument about the $200 I just agreed to pay him just to end my contact with him. He then refused to take any payment and stated that he was the being the better person in this deal and would walk away with the loss.
My experiences is similar to the other reviews, who the owner claims his ex-girlfriend is just giving him a bad name.. clearly its not when I had the same experience as the others. If I could offer one suggestion to the owner, seek some anger management and let someone else handle the customer service end...stick to turning wrenches if your good at that. I'll take my business elsewhere.
