I used to go to Citizen Public House's bar and order the Sangria and go there just for the Sangria. I bet I funded the Sangria bank all on my own. When my husband and I went out last night,I was super disappointed to see they got rid of it so I ordered the Highlands Drifter
and I was not disappointed. Not as awesome as the Sangria but it was tasty.
Our dinner and service was fantastic. I ordered the Chop Salad with smoked salmon which is consistently good and the Cauliflower Salad, as an appetizer. The Cauliflower Salad was a little bland in some (few) parts but overall very good. My husband said his "meat was perfect". One knock is their menu is a bit small, but man, they do NOT disappoint in their meat and veggies! So vegetarians and carnivores and pescatorians can all love each other and get along at Citizen!
I love to end on a sweet note, you cannot go wrong with their Heart of Caramel dessert. If you're looking to trash your New Year's resolution to eat fewer sweets, do it. New Year's resolutions are an exercise in futility anyway.Wowza! My mouth is watering just yelping!
One final point, our service has consistently been awesome. Our waiter was quick and when the kitchen was backed up due to a party of 30, he let us know they were running a little behind.
Four stars because they ditched my favorite drink but I will be back!
