My husband and I just had the displeasure of visiting Camelback Uniforms for the first time. Jeff, the owner, was quite unpleasant and didn't seem to know much about my husband's plate carrier. Jeff thought the padding in the plate carrier was soft body armor and the cushioned flaps were the cummerbund. He also voiced his disapproval with the color coyote tan. When my husband advised him that he did not have plates in the carrier, Jeff attempted to sell him a $600 plate carrier package from KDH and said it was better than what my husband had. When my husband asked what made it better, Jeff said nothing but "yours is a piece of sh*t". My husband explained he liked what he had and Jeff said he didn't care and repeated he thought it was a piece of sh*t. The plate carrier my husband has is a high rated brand that can be purchased in many PX's and companies like AR500 Armor. My husband, who previously worked for the AZDOC as a CO II and a member of TSU (DOC SWAT) is an Army combat veteran who served with the 75th Ranger Regiment. I mention his background to validate his level of experience using and selecting tactical gear. My husband went in for some basic alterations on his plate carrier, but Jeff tried to up-sell and then refused to do the alterations because my husband wasn't interested in purchasing his products. Horrible service and ZERO respect for customers.
Don't waste your time visiting Camelback Uniforms. We highly recommend FX Tactical and Tombstone Tactical. Both have great, friendly and knowledgable staff, large selection, good prices and best of all, NO Jeff.
