| - I second Jessica F of "love love love Bandung". Excellent $$, portion, interesting menu, service and deals!
DEALS -- (1) 10% off from Yelp, (2) 15% off online order, and (3) lunch specials for $8 with free appetizer.
It's a night of cakes (fish and rice) and lemon grass!
OTAK OTAK -- must love fish to enjoy dish. As soon as you unwrap it, whoa...smells like fish. LOL. Interesting. Leftover repurpose to Asian soup add-in.
GULAI KAMBING ($15.95) -- with rice, serves 2+. Stew. Good flavor. Adding sambal (chili) would overwhelm the delicate light curry flavor. Excellent balance of ingredients. I chose this dish as it has the same meaning in Tagalog, GULAI means vegetables and KAMBING means lamb. Tone may be different.
FRIED BANANA (4) -- ordinary. Serves 2, but I ate it all. Raspberry and Vanilla sauce was frozen.
BEER PAIRING -- the only casual dining with beer pairing that is typical of fine dining. Lots of local beer selections ranging from $4-$6. Plenty of Cider selections. Woo hoo!
SERVICE -- Endearing! Lee is happier than I. LOL. Then, someone drew a heart on the "i", see photo. A very thoughtful act of adding date to brown bag is appreciated. There is an absolute sincerity to help and provide fantabulous service.
VENUE -- better than Batam, Indonesia vibe. Left to right table arrangement is spacious but tight from north to south. The back room is cluttered.
Next dish...the aromatic sizzling plate!
