  • Waited in line for twenty minutes.. at 4 PM.. had to jump up and down to get attention. Thought maybe I was in the wrong line. Saw online that they do free diagnostics of check engine light. Which is sort of true.. they will do a code scan for free, or you pay 89 dollars for the diagnostic. The code scan involves a guy hooking a reader up to the battery, reading the code and walking away. I asked what my code meant, he honestly said.."well thats what we charge 89 dollars for" Waste of my time. *** He gave me a three digit code which I was able to google and learn.. This code is sometimes caused by a loose gas cap, or maybe a small hole in the cap. Had the dude not been such an ass, I would have happily bought a new gas cap from Pep Boys!
