| - Dr Linda Steelman is an out of date Vet. She does not know the current treatments for even Thyroid disease. Its Law and Ethics that keeps these Vets current. After horrible patient service and treatment by her office manager Linda Newman President of the POPPY FOUNDATION, for special needs kitties!; my special needs kitty and I were turned away! We were turned away because we are concerned pet owners who ask too many questions. And that is interpreted by Linda Newman And Linda Steelman as constantly disgruntled people. I will never apologize for being concerned for my pet, I am my pets only voice! After making an appointment to have some blood work done, so that my current Specialist Vet could collaborate on the on going treatment of my kitty, I received a phone call from Linda Newman canceling my appointment saying that my cat and I should GO somewhere else.
After receiving this phone call after hours at 7:35pm that night, I wrote on their FaceBook page about my experience. Immediately after that, I began to receive harassment and cyber bullying from the moderators of the POPPY FOUNDATIONS FB page (again I have to remind you they are one in the same but claim to have nothing to do with each other). After I pointed out the bullying and the freedom to express my opinion and review, and how I might alert the authorities about these threats, the moderators quickly began to delete their comments. After I had posted saying that I would be coming into the office to collect my pets records, I was told be THE POPPY FOUNDATION which is run by Linda Newman, that I would be met by the police if I showed up.
After arranging a police escort to attain my records I was met kindly by the front desk girl who is now so busy on the phone she can barely make eye contact. Then of course "the Linda's" are made aware of my presence and begin to give me the fake smiles and the brush off's. I call Linda Steelman out on her stalling and she then says she will see myself and my partner (as witness) I ask her if we can go into a private room so as not to disrupt the patients and kitties that are in the lobby. We go in to an adjacent room and I begin to explain and inquire what the problem is..from there I have to tell the Dr to please lower her voice and calm down and ask why her tone is hysterical. She refuses to calm down and have a discussion. I then make known to her that we will be following up on the threats made to us and that we want our file, which she refuses again to give to us. Wasting paper, she informs me she needs 24hrs to get me a copy. Most business in this century have become earth conscience, and send things via email or on a disk. So maybe lets get with it.
I contacted my lawyer about the discrimination, harassment and the Vet withholding my records..after letting them know my lawyer and law enforcement were on my side, I will be receiving my records certified mail.
Getting my records was never the real problem, there are laws in place for that. It is the treatment these people think they can inflict on patients. I will say in closing, if you treat human beings this way, how are you treating our fur babies behind closed doors.
Be careful, your cat will likely end up with a cold when they leave, and they likely won't be treated very well either.
