  • Worst vet clinic I've been to. I used to go to Leaside animal clinic which is also in a high end neighborhood and they were nothing short of wonderful and never did they try and milk me for any treatment with my cat. Fast forward, we moved and adopted two dogs from a rescue and we took them to High Park animal hospital because they were close and a full service clinic. From the first second we stepped in we felt pressured into spending money. We saw Dr. Loews who didn't seem too confident with what our dogs needed however she was confident in trying to convince us to get extra vaccines that they did not need and told us we need to let them do dental surgery for one of 5 month old puppies because she had her permanent tooth coming in and still had her baby tooth by saying it will not fall out on its own. NOT TRUE!!!! I brought up that we thought our other puppy may have problems with his vision and she dismissed us because the exam doesn't cost extra I'm guessing. The visits were both focused on selling us any surgery, supplies, food that the carried etc. They asked us what we feed them and we said Origin which is one of the best foods on the market but she along with the techs said they've never heard of it and continued to insist their food was better. We just didn't feel like they had our dogs best interest in mind and we decided to switch vets. We asked them to give us their files and... You guessed it we had to pay to get their files because as the receptionist explained " there is alot of work involved in gathering the files as there is so much to them".... We went there twice for their shots!!!! I also found out that my friend used to take her rabbit there and when he got too sick to cure she wanted to put him down to prevent him from suffering and they wouldn't let her saying if she cared about him she should put him on iv treatments which was tortured seeing there was no cure. If you're considering them, don't! They care a out their pocket book not your pets. There are plenty of great vets in the city. Unfortunately they are not one of them.
