  • I was so so excited about trying this place but it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. I booked online for a manicure and pedicure and was looking forward to my appointment. I arrived 5 mins prior to my appointment time and was given the canned tour. Then I selected my colors and sat down to wait while I was told my tech was 'just finishing up.' And I waited. And waited. And waited. 22 mins past my appointment time and still no sign of me getting in to start my services. Two other guests arrived at this point and they were started on their services right away. Guess they were more important? Who knows. The receptionist was certainly very friendly and accommodating with them. The receptionist clearly knew I was getting antsy because she then offered that I should shop in their pop up boutique as I waited. At 30 mins past my appointment time, and no hint of my services beginning, I decided to leave as I knew I would not be finished at the time they stated in the appointment block and I had a dinner meeting to attend. The receptionist said she was sorry and that they just must be running behind. Glad I didn't pre pay online. So sad. I waited all day for this appointment and no mani or pedi for me. I know, first world problems. The funny thing is that I drove past at least 5 strip mall nail salons on my way to this one. Prose seems to operate off the premise that they are different that these other salons (and their price point certainly seems to reflect this attitude). I feel like if you are going to charge $100 for a mani+pedi AND you take appointments, then you need to run on-time. If I walked in, then I would expect a wait. But I didn't. Look Prose, I sympathize with you. I own and operate a service-based business in Scottsdale and I also take appointments. But if one of my clients was sitting in my waiting room for over 30 mins past their appointment time, they would leave because people are BUSY. If you take appointments, barring some great emergency, people expect to be seen at their appointment time. You have a nail salon, not a doctors office. I realize this is a new business and they are ironing out the kinks. But there were much better ways to handle this- if my appointed nail tech was tied up with another client, then give me the person who was available (because clearly, someone was available as the people who came in after me were started right away). Let me give you some advice - worry less about whether your client knows the story about your little logo bird and more about keeping things on schedule and, if that's not happening, then think on your feet and make it happen. Sorry this didn't work out for us Prose, I was hoping we were going to be good friends. See ya at the nail salon in the strip mall next door.
