| - I booked a spa day which included use of the amenities and a massage. I was disappointed in my massage, however the amenities were wonderful, and the front desk was pleasant. The spa is small, so seemingly un-accommodating to large parties, but perfect if you are coming alone or with a friend.
I came early in the morning and everything was clean and well put together; very inviting. They have all of the basics; steam, sauna, and whirlpool, as well as toiletries, in case you forgot your own.
I was mostly disappointed in my massage because there was no communication at all, from my therapist. Her technique was good, but I would have rather sacrificed good technique for communication and receiving actual work on the specific areas that I came in for.
She didn't ask what I wanted focus on. She also neglected to ask what I DIDN'T want worked on, which happened to be my face and scalp (two very common areas that people opt out of) of which she worked on.
She also didn't ask about or check in with me at all, regarding the pressure (which was too light). So all-in-all, I got a fluff n buff massage, and no work what so ever on my focus areas.
The massage ended up being not worth the price, which is comparable to, if not even a little more expensive than, other similar spas. I did book the "relaxing" massage, not deep tissue, but even with a relaxation massage, actual work is involved, not just going through the motions. They normally also include more of a medium pressure, not light (unless specifically requested).
Anyhow, it's worth it to try out the spa based on the amenities, (maybe get a day pass) but the massage was a complete waste for me.
The 3-star rating is obviously for the massage.
