  • After leaving a cup of boba and paying my bill with giggly mostly naked girls, I took Lilly's advice and headed over this way. I found a self parking lot which was very much free. I like free parking. Because you don' have to pay anybody. As I walked towards the promenade, the first thing to catch my eye was a massive ferris wheel reaching hundreds of feet in the air. I crossed the entry point beneath the enormous circle, and found myself in the promenade proper. There is a zero dollar entry fee to this place. Just like going to the mall. Within this street is a pretty good sized collection of restaurants, shops, vendors and activities. At the entry of it, towering over Las Vegas is the High Roller. (The big ferris wheel) Further inside, there is also an entry point into the Flamingo Casino here. The area was all decked out for Christmas, featuring a really pretty tree on a central stage/fountain kinda thing. It even lightly snowed on me every once in a while. Sorta remids me of my days in New England. Also, every couple of times during the evening there was a 'Christmas show' where the whole promenade (even the high roller) lit up and flashed colors along with the beat to whatever Christmas music they were playing. It was neat. Had I not eaten earlier in the day, I could have had a varied selection of restaurants and eateries to choose from. There was a Ghirardelli Ice Cream parlor, a Tilted kilt, a LA based cupcake bakery (complete with a Cupcake ATM) among several other famous restaurants. There were also shops in here. A Las Vegas tourist shop for all your "l went to Las Vegas" labeled item needs, and some other shops that escape my recollection right now. There was also a "VR Adventure" Shop, where you could go on Virtual adventures in the interwebs and fight zombies or skydive and other fun yet fake stuff. This is a pretty neat collection of shops, restaurants and a very friendly place to poke around and start your walking adventures around Las Vegas. Plus, free parking. (Well, in late December 2016 anyways) I'll most definitely take advantage of free parking here again.
