| - Zis place was ze worst! And I am giving it two stars instead of one for the ambiance. The whole thing looks like something that just jumped out of a Wes Anderson movie, which is great. Unfortunately, my actual experience of the service was terrible!
So I go in, with a winter boot needing a new zipper. And the gentleman behind the counter is all "ma belle" this and "Mademoiselle" that and yes, it is very charming. And then he charges $45. For a zipper. (Where I'm from, that's an entire resole.) Now, I think, okay, I'm new in town, that must be the going rate. So I pay it. I go back out into the world with my boot and BOOM! One day I'm zipping up (this was not a week later) and the zipper just rips. Not the zipper rips out of the material. The zipper itself rips. Which means, for those of you who know your way around a zipper, that it was made from CHEAP material. And that it cost $45.
Long story short, if you're looking for a place to photograph or to shoot a small budget indie film, you should most definitely stop in. But do NOT get your shoes repaired.
