  • My wife ordered an ADT system (We had their system in California and cancelled the service when we moved.) She told me the installer would be at our home at 3pm. At exactly 3pm the installer was at the door and introduced himself. I invited him in and showed him through our home. He wrote up a suggested coverage plan which included all door and windows. A little over $3,000 I made a negative remark, he then said for Veterans they would install everything for what was greatly reduced, but still more than what I was willing to pay. We opted for the basic package covering all doors and a few of the windows in the hidden areas around our home as well as motion detection. He did not balk at the basic coverage and did not seem disappointed that he was not able to upsell us. The installation was almost flawless (he demonstrated with one of the wireless window transmitters and then forgot to move it up out of view (not a big deal they are applied with double sided tape). He advised he could not use any of the old equipment that had been previously installed. He instructed us on the use of the keypad and on the key fobs. The monitoring is probably at least double the price that other companies offer their services for (The reason for only 4 stars) but with the Yelp low marks from others, I was prepared to toss them and search for another company. I'm not elated at having to sign a three year contract, but happy wife, happy life! If for some reason this all goes South, believe I will be back on here to update our status.
