I have lived in toronto for years and driven by castle loma many times yet have not been in to see the place. I was happy that they had the "talk box" thing it was like you almost had your own tour guide. I would definitely recommend that you wear a good pair of shoes. There is a lot of walking . we thought we would be in there for an hour or so ..three house later ...and we skipped rooms. The tunnels were cool..literally...I'd bring a sweater... Yet the top..top..top.. Of the building I couldn't be up there very long ..I have asthma.. And I felt myself get very light headed and have to go down as fast as u went up ... I didn't even want to go to the top after the first few floors up.. But I knew I had to ...I mean ..you're in castle loma for Christ sakes ..the gardens ..men..I met a guy in the winter randomly in the winter who happened to work there and he said go in the beginning of summer ...we didn't and the flowers had already peaked..the gardens weren't anything to rave about when we went ..but judging by the amount of work in there I'm sure it is beautiful at its peak .. Definitely recommend it if you like old architecture..
