  • I used to live 1/2 mile from this club while they were building it over the last year, so it was great to finally be in the area and get to check it out. Immediately walking in I noticed the difference in the quality of materials used in the construction compared to the other LVAC clubs in the area, however, those clubs were built a few years ago. The layout is a basically a two story gym, as LVAC is known for that format. Never been in the facility, and knowing the layout of the others, I knew my way to the men's locker room and noticed the standard juice bar and seating area with TV's in the common area. The Men's locker rooms were laid out with a little more space than the other gyms and again the notice of quality of the materials used, floor, lockers, walls, bathroom counter tops, etc. Once I was ready I proceeded upstairs to the gym floor and went to the Cardio area. Here like other typical LVAC's are many types of cardio equipment facing a series of TV's for viewing. The gym/weights area is also a standard layout for LVAC with a large rectangle area containing the free weights, cable machine, squat racks, benches, and many of the Hammer Strength series body part machines. I felt the area was a little crowded here but I was trying to figure if this was simply because ALL the equipment is basically in this area and this obviously brings the people who are using it. There is also a series of TV's located around the room. Dividing this large workout rectangle is a wall that has the series of Body Part Machines, also typical in LVAC fashion. I felt this area was a little more laid out with space but it also appeared to not have as many people training here at the time I was there. There is also a floor area where several abdominal machines and stretching mats can be used. This gym also has a 2 lane track that circles the entire 2nd floor/gym area with mulitple areas to enter/exit the track. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the construction and over course all the equipment because its new. The free weight plates are a little different rubber coating than the other LVAC's which I felt was nicer. The dumbell's were standard, just new. Of course all the cardio equipment is new but I did see a few machines already out of order. Since I no longer live close to this gym I won't be returning on a regular basis, however, when I am in the area I will certainly look to train here.
