| - St. Francis is one of the most consistent local spots in Phoenix that cranks out some fun seasonal food! Worth a visit if you're thinking about it. Here is why!
Why go there:
We sat at the chef's bar where we got to watch the magic of a well run brigade. The guys (and girl) were in sync and communicating like a good kitchen should. They are led well back there, even when things got sticky, they pushed forward.
We watched the food get sent out immaculately under the eye of the night's head chef at the pass. The food at St. Francis is accented by their wood fired oven, where you'll get all their flatbreads, roasted veggies, chicken, cornbread and freshly baked bread coming out of. Even the deserts. The menu is fresh, seasonal and generous in portions, from starters to mains.
Don't miss:
Their fingerling potatoes were unbelievable, served with fresh rosemary and sage that went for a swim in the deep fryer before hitting the plate topped with paper thin Parmesan shavings and served with a lemon aioli. Anything with fresh garden veg is amazingly fresh, the chef's special pot roast was outstanding. Their flatbreads were great out of that wood fire oven. So hard to choose from their menu, though it is condensed!
Tip:
The place is the largest, if you can sneak in do so early and grab the chef table (oven bar) could seat 3-4 and watch the magic go down.
Overall:
One of the best in Phoenix, we got a freshly baked bread to take home to the sitter! A good thank you from where we just dined!
