So I missed my connecting fly to JFK and needed to find accommodations for the night. Expedia to the rescue!!! I had two choices, Econo-lodge airport and Extended Stay - Airport; I should've gone with the former choice, but oh well!!
I got my room at a discounted rate thanks to $25 in points from Expedia - with tax a mere $63 but Econo would've been $55 at the most. So ES claims a shuttle but when I called he shuttle had stopped running at 10pm - darnit!! I jump in a Lyft for $10.11 and head to the joint. Once there no one was at the front desk so I picked up the courtesy phone and was informed that he would be there shortly. Check in was eventless except for my key not working the first time and the front desk guy telling me that I could down at 6am to see if the shuttle could take me to the airport because he's certain she can't take me at 7am or 8am because she has prior obligations......WTH?! Oh and he shuttle runs on the hour, supposedly every hour. So, I prepared myself to take an Uber or Lyft in the AM!
The next morning I go to the front desk and the kind woman checks me out then asks if I need a shuttle as she saw me on my phone. Absolutely Ma'am!! The unhelpful gentleman yesterday told me that the shuttle driver likely couldn't take me to the airport at 7 nor 8. Her response "We should never say what we cannot do but what we can do, I'll talk to him about that." I originally gave 3 stars - for her customer service but realized how unhelpful the gentleman was and downgraded to 2.5.
Oh BTW, the breakfast is grab and go - instant oatmeal, bars, muffins, and coffee/tea. Not bad but just know it's not a full breakfast. 2.5 kisses from me!
