I don't know how I never noticed this place and I'm disappointed it took me this long to do so! I went in on a Sunday after the lunch rush. I was originally planning on sitting outside to enjoy the new cooler Valley temperatures but as soon as I walked in, I knew I had to sit inside to enjoy all of the island decor. I perused the menu looking for a Hawaiian Plate lunch I had been craving and was happy to see more than just Hawaiian offerings. I was set on what I wanted though and ordered the Luau Pork Plate. My only problem was that I didn't know what Rice would be best so I asked the very kind cashier what his recommendation was. He asked if I've ever had the Rumbi Rice, which has beans and a slight coconut flavor, and offered me a sample. I graciously accepted and after tasting (I'm normally not a big fan of coconut) went with the yummy Rumbi Rice. My only disappointment is that they don't have any POG juice but, then again, it's extremely rare here on the mainland. I sat down and admired all of the decor... very nice! There were a couple unbussed tables but they seemed to be understaffed at the moment. Not a deal breaker because the cashier was very friendly and keeping busy taking orders. He brought the food to me and I was almost embarrassed how quickly it was gone! The Pork was delicious and I loved that they don't use the traditional elbow noodles for the Mac and Cheese. The bed of Rumbi Rice was a nice twist as well. Now I can't wait to bring my kiddos back on Monday or Tuesday so one of them can eat free!
