| - Stayed here for a conference, and we were impressed by the summertime conference rate for such a spacious standard room. Yes, it was hot outside, but since we live in the Valley, it was nothing new to us! We loved how close our casita-style room, Room 140, was to the conference area so we were able to go back to the room even on breaks. The room was in a unique round style with a big picture window on one side and French doors opening to a patio on the other. The room came fully equipped with a large mini-fridge (big enough to put a pizza box in), a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave oven, and a large walk-in closet. Very impressive. Although this is an older facility, the bathroom had clearly been renovated not long ago and was beautiful. The shower area was tight on space, and water easily leaked out the bottom of the door on to the floor, but not a big deal. The vanity area, separate from the shower area, had two sinks with plenty of counter space. The air conditioning was excellent; the intake register was rattling when we arrived, but a maintenance worker fixed it within an hour of my call to the front desk about it, and someone called me later to follow up and make sure I was satisfied with the repair. The room was also super quiet, mostly due to the concrete block walls. As others on Yelp have noted, parking is a breeze. We were always able to park right outside our room, so coming and going was easy--and we all know how difficult it can be at a lot of resorts to come and go. We enjoyed the onsite Starbucks franchise, which was always fully staffed with efficient and friendly baristas. (They accept the Starbucks app but cannot redeem rewards, just as a heads up.) The only bad thing about it was the inflated prices on food items. The drinks were all priced pretty close to normal. One night, we ordered drinks and dessert on the R Bar patio facing Mummy Mountain. It's a wonderful patio with romantic lights and stays pretty cool even on a summer night. My cappuccino was wonderful, though a bit small, but the red velvet bar was to die for. Only complaint: slow service, though our server was nice enough. The Marriott app is very easy to use and convenient for check-in and check-out, so I highly recommend it. Overall, very happy with our stay here and would definitely consider it again if a similar situation for staying in town arises in the future.
