  • I got married at The Excalibur on 05/14/17. It was a mixed bag. The Good: -The chapel is beautiful, which is why I settled on this venue. -The chapel is sequestered from the rest of the floor, so there is not any ambient casino noise or cigarette smoke. It feels cozy and intimate. -The rehearsal went well. We were able to see the space and practice coming down the aisle several times. The coordinator was very helpful. -The photographers are really good. We got a lot of high-quality images of our ceremony and they cut us a nice discount on the copyright to the photos. -The manager agreed to refund us the approximate value of the flowers and half the rehearsal, which we felt was fair compensation for the mistakes. +1 for customer service. The Not-So-Great: -the salesperson I emailed with for the 9 months prior to the wedding was out for the 3 weeks before the ceremony and neglected to warn me that she would be unavailable, and I did not receive an automated response letting me know why she was not responding to my questions a few days out from my wedding. That was stressful. -The coordinator that we did the rehearsal with was not available the day of the ceremony, and the coordinator that was present clearly had no idea how we wanted to do things. She didn't know we had brought our own music and she tried to tell us how to come down the aisle when we had rehearsed something different. -My bouquet was incorrect. I ordered a mix of red and white flowers (bridesmaids had all red), and my bouquet arrived completely red. They informed me of this half an hour before the ceremony, and offered to redo it but warned that it likely would not look as nice since it would be rushed. I opted to keep the red bouquet because I had no idea how a rushed bouquet would look. Since I really wanted white roses for our photographs, this was disappointing. -the dvd is pretty low quality. I expected higher resolution for the price ($125 for the first and $50 for additional copies). If you want something that looks like it was filmed post-2000 I recommend getting your own videographer. I will concede that the video editing was very well done. If I had to do it over I would pick a different venue. I did not get the sense that the employees care about the quality of their work and that's not the environment that I wanted for my wedding day.
