My sister and I visited this nail salon because we heard about their SNS nail polish and wanted to give it a try. We were asked if we had ever had SNS done before and we told them that we had not nor had we visited their nail salon.
The man that was doing my nails was using a nail drill on my nails ... and my cuticles. I was wondering why it was hurting so much when the polish was being applied and I realized he had cut the cuticles on 5 of my fingers and they were bleeding. He quickly grabbed a paper towel with oil and just hummed along wiping the blood off my fingers. No apology or anything. I asked my sister if hers hurt and she said YES. They cut her up, too.
Also, I figured that SNS polish would be more expensive than a regular manicure. BUT. Be warned! Do not tell them that you have never been there before. They took advantage of that and charged me way more than necessary. PEOPLE. They charged me $40 JUST FOR POLISH. No manicure included. I took this as a lesson learned.
About 8 days later, I ended up getting my nail polish chipped off and after how much I paid I marched myself back in to get it redone. There was another gentleman who asked if I got them done there as he was staring at my nails. I told him, "Yes, I did get them done here last week. My cuticles were all cut and I would expect better care for how much I paid." He laughed like he didn't understand me and left. Another woman came up to fix my nail. I asked her how much an SNS manicure is and she told me $35. I took my receipt out and showed her how I was charged $40. She also commented on my nails and asked who did them previously and I saw the guy and pointed him out. She called him over and he looked at my nails. They started speaking in their foreign language about me and I sat there feeling mocked. Nothing was said about how my nails were treated.
The manager then came over and shared a few words with the lady doing my nails. She said that she apologizes, but the SNS price of $35 was for regular customers, not for new customers. I was FURIOUS. Why in the world would you charge more just because someone is visiting your salon for the first time? How insulting! Like I wouldn't know I was being ripped off? I sure as heck wasn't going to pay more money for them to fix my one fingernail! The woman kept apologizing saying that she didn't hear her manager make the announcement that SNS is $35 for returning customers only. That is the dumbest thing I ever heard.
While I was sitting there waiting, I heard so many complaints from other women. Please, just spare yourself and go somewhere where you will be a respected and valued customer.
****The following is an update to the business owner's comment below****
Danny, I am positive that I have the right salon. GPS and a short Google search make that easy these days. As for who the manager is, I can only say that there was a woman in that role the day I arrived again. I will not return, and I hope others reading this review benefit from my mistake.
