  • I am the caregiver for my elderly in laws, and this is where their insurance dictates they go for anything that needs a radiologist. At this location, they do regular X-Rays as walk in only. Wait times are so so. For CT scans, etc, they make appointments and the wait times for those are very good. The staff also seems very caring and nice. However, we have had numerous problems with them. They missed a small fracture on Mom's toe. Thankfully, we saw a podiatrist, and he DID see it, but his was many weeks later due to the need for a referral, which meant seeing her primary care doctor again. Mom developed a mass on the side of her face and her doctor ordered a CT which was fine. They got her in quickly. But things changed when the specialist ordered a STAT needle biopsy. This was to be done at Desert Radiology. The specialist sent the paperwork to them that day, and the referral was approved the very next day. I was told that we would hear from Desert Radiology within a day to make the appointment. After 4 days, I called and was told that they still hadn't received the paperwork from the doctor and that they couldn't make the appointment until they had it. After spending the day going back and forth with the doctors office and Desert Radiologist, I still had no appointment. Two days later, I called again. The gal said she had just received the paperwork just before I called. I know this is not true. Then she informed me that they couldn't get her in until over a month later. I explained that this was a STAT order, and that she had already waited almost a week, while the mass was getting larger, but she wouldn't budge. She informed me that I could get her in over a week later if I took her to Las Vegas. I explained why this was not possible, but it didn't matter. We ended up having to take her to the Emergency Room because Desert Radiologists could not seem to accommodate a STAT order from a Specialist. What a shame. I know that most of the reviews here are pretty good, so perhaps we are the exception. I sure hope so. On another note, even though we pay at the time of service, I still got a a phone call at 3:45 in the morning, inquiring about a bill. When I asked them to call back at a reasonable time to discuss this so called bill, they hung up and I never heard from them again.
